Ingredients

  • 1 L (4 cups) blueberries
  • 500 ml (2 cups) red grapes
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) chia seeds
  • 7 ml (½ tbsp) vanilla extract

Preparation

  1. In a saucepan, bring the blueberries and grapes to a boil uncovered, then reduce to low heat. Cook for at least 10 minutes or until the fruits are very tender.
  2. Add the vanilla and chia seeds and puree with an electric blender.
  3. Transfer to Mason jars and let cool before sealing and refrigerating.

Notes

Keeps for 14 days in the refrigerator in an airtight container. If you wish to extend the shelf life of your sugar-free jam, use clean (sterilized) jars and seal them tightly. By adopting these practices, you can keep your jars for several months without needing to refrigerate them.

You can easily swap the grapes in this recipe for apples! The chia seeds replace gelatin or pectin in the jam, creating a lovely texture. If you omit the chia, the jam will be more liquid but just as delicious!
