Ingredients
- 500 ml (2 cups) frozen mixed berries (or other frozen fruits, your choice)*
- 22 ml (1 ½ tbsp) lightly packed brown sugar, divided
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) chia seeds (or ground flax seeds)
- 7.5 ml (½ tbsp) cornstarch
- 125 ml (½ cup) homemade granola (or store-bought)
- 60 ml (¼ cup) quick-cooking oats
- 60 ml (¼ cup) unsweetened applesauce
- 1 ml (¼ tsp) cinnamon (optional)
Preparation
- In a microwave-safe bowl, place the frozen fruits. Add 15 ml (1 tbsp) of brown sugar, chia seeds, and cornstarch. Mix well.
- In another bowl, mix the granola, oats, applesauce, remaining brown sugar, and cinnamon.
- Spread the granola mixture over the fruit.
- Microwave for 4 minutes.
- Let cool for 2 minutes before serving.
Notes
Keeps for 5 days in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
*You can use fresh or frozen fruits (apples, pears, strawberries, blueberries, mangoes, etc.). If using fresh fruit, do not add cornstarch.
