Ingredients

  • 250 ml (1 cup) dry brown rice
  • 500 ml (2 cups) high protein milk, 2% M.F. (such as Natrel Plus)
  • 10 ml (2 tsp) vanilla extract
  • Ground cinnamon, to taste
  • Ground nutmeg, to taste 

Preparation

  1. Rinse the brown rice until water runs clear.
  2. In a medium saucepan, bring rice and milk to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 50-60 minutes or until the rice is soft, stirring occasionally.
  3. If needed, add more milk or water to the rice to adjust the texture.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract
  5. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg as desired before serving.

Notes

Keeps for 4 days in the refrigerator or up to 3 months in the freezer.
