A simple recipe created by a dietitian, rich in plant-based protein and perfect for introducing kids (or grown-ups!) to tofu. These crispy sticks can be served as a snack, a side dish, or as a topping for a salad or grain bowl. For the perfect pairing, try it with our spicy roasted red pepper dip !

Ingredients

  • 450 g (1 lb) extra-firm tofu, cut into sticks
  • Canola oil spray
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) nutritional yeast
  • 5 ml (1 tsp) smoked paprika
  • 2 ml (½ tsp) BBQ seasoning*

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 °F (200 °C).
  2. Place the tofu sticks in a bowl. Lightly spray with oil and toss gently to coat.
  3. Add the nutritional yeast, smoked paprika, and BBQ seasoning. Toss gently.
  4. Arrange the tofu sticks on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes, turning the sticks halfway through.
  6. Turn off the oven and leave the baking sheet inside for 10 minutes, or until the sticks are golden and crispy.

Notes

Keeps for 5 days in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
