Ingredients
- 1 boneless buttock ham (about 1.3 kg)
- 500 ml (2 cups) water
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) old-fashioned mustard
- 2 ml (½ tsp) nutmeg
- 125 ml (½ cup) maple syrup
Preparation
- Remove the string from the ham. Remove visible fat if desired. Place ham and water in slow cooker. Brush ham with mustard and sprinkle with nutmeg.
- Pour the maple syrup over the ham and cook for about 8 hours or until the ham flakes with a fork. Turn the ham over halfway through cooking.
- Remove ham from slow cooker and slice or break up into pieces with 2 forks. Save the cooking juices for a sauce and drizzle over the ham before serving with your favourite side dishes.

Can be kept for 10 days in the refrigerator in an airtight container or 2 months in the freezer.
