Ingredients
- 1 pork tenderloin, about 400 g (14 oz)
- 45 mL (3 tbsp) ketchup
- 45 mL (3 tbsp) apple cider vinegar
- 30 mL (2 tbsp) Worcestershire sauce (or soy sauce)*
- 15 mL (1 tbsp) water
- 15 mL (1 tbsp) Dijon mustard (or whole-grain mustard)
- 15 mL (1 tbsp) maple syrup
- 10 mL (2 tsp) BBQ spices (or Cajun seasoning)*
- 3 to 5 drops liquid smoke (optional)
- 1 yellow onion, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
Preparation
- Place the pork tenderloin in the slow cooker. Add all the ingredients.
- Gently stir to coat the tenderloin in the sauce.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 hours (or on high for 4 hours) until the pork is tender and easy to shred.
- Once cooked, shred the pork directly in the slow cooker using two forks. Mix well with the sauce.
- Serve as desired: in tacos, with grilled vegetables, or in a meal bowl.
